About Candace
Candace is a seasoned professional in the world of entertainment media. She has been writing and performing as an independent artist for over 17 years. Candace joined forces with Michael Paglia in 2012 as they began creating music under the duo "Candace & Michael" and have since garnered over 4.2 million streams, 2 nominations at the MuchMusic Video Awards, a semi-finalist position in Nashville's International Songwriting Competition, and featured sync placements on shows such as New Girl, The Babysitters Club, The Young and the Restless, All American, and more.
Before music licensing, Candace began her career in Broadcast Television at Bell Media, Canada's leading content creation company, as an editor and producer for MuchMusic, which later expanded to brand partnerships and commercial production for Bell Media's specialty and conventional channels. Throughout her time at Bell Media, Candace had worked on commercial content for renowned brands like Ikea, Natrel, KitKat, and Christie & Cadbury.
In addition to being a songwriter and vocalist, Candace also performs as a voiceover artist. With over 13+ years of professional experience, Candace has voiced over 1,200 projects including an 8 year stint as MTV Canada's brand voiceover artist, various TV commercials, radio ads, on-air promos, apps, video games, and branded content projects for clients such as RBC, WeDay, Sony, iHeartRadio Canada, and Kids Help Phone.
In 2020, Candace co-founded Deep Sea Music Group alongside partner Michael Paglia. Their music creations and unique sound swiftly made waves, with their compositions gracing networks such as NBC, CBS, Netflix, Hallmark Channel, E Entertainment, Paramount+, and more. Candace's passion is and always has been music creation. At Deep Sea Music Group she strives to create a space where music supervisors, creative agencies, content creators, and film makers can discover unique and specially crafted songs to elevate their projects.
About Michael
Michael Paglia is a distinguished music professional, renowned for his multifaceted expertise in music education, performance, and composition. Holding an Honours Bachelor of Music Degree specializing in Music Education from Wilfrid Laurier University, with a dedicated focus on piano, guitar, and vocal music, he further expanded his academic horizon by achieving a Bachelor of Education degree from York University.
With over 23 years of immersive experience as a music educator, studio musician, songwriter and performer, Michael's musical journey has taken him across the country. His career highlights include performances alongside esteemed international acts such as Michael Bublé, Sum 41, Simple Plan, Thornley, Sloan, and Finger Eleven. His music has graced numerous networks like NBC, CBS, Hallmark Channel, CTV, Much Music, CBC television, 102.1 The Edge, CBC Radio 2, and more, subsequent to his collaboration with Candace.
For the past 14 years, Michael has served as an instrumental music educator at the secondary school level, passionately advocating for the importance of music education. He is a passionate and proficient songwriter, instrumentalist, and composer, constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation in music composition for sync licensing opportunities.
Michael's musical talents extend across multiple instruments, demonstrating exceptional skill on the piano, guitar, and bass.
